It just have a CHKDSK recovery performed by WinXP and it works fine.
How to solve this problem?
I dont have a WinXP CDROM with me.
I left it at home.

couldn't boot to windows, it saids there is not HD on this laptop. Here the

hear a sound like a clock "click, click, click, click, coming from the HD
everytime i boot the computer . This laptop is only 2 years old and i think
not sure but the HD is gone south but any help will be appreciated.
P.s Also if i need a new HD, where can i find one for this laptop ? thanks

Even if u click cancel or ignore, its still displaying. What could be the

wspomniane urzadzenie bylo wykorzystywane jako fax,
pracowaЕ‚o pod Windows 98 (obsЕ‚uga za pomoca dolaczonego
programu - nie pamietam nazwy). Fax po wylaczeniu komputera
zapisywal odbierane faxy w swojej pamieci i po uruchomieniu
komputera mozna bylo je odczytac. Niestety trzeba bylo
zamienic system na Windows XP Professional. Program do
obslugi faxu (ten kupiony wraz z urzadzeniem) nie dzialal
prawidlowo z Win XP. Fax udalo sie uruchomomic przez
program zawarty w Win XP (Panel sterowania - drukarki i faxy ...)
Faxy mozna wysylac i odbierac ale tylko kiedy komputer jest wlaczony,
po wylaczeniu komutera kontrolka sygnalizujaca gotowosc urzadzenia
(przedni panel faxmodemu) gasnie i fax nie odpowiada.
Co mozna zrobic zeby odbierac faxy po wylaczeniu komputera najlepiej
przez wbudowana w Win XP obsluge faxu albo jaki program moze tu pomoc?

| | The problem I am having (one of many)with this OS is my USB mass
storage device(s) are not being assigned a driver letter. The Drive
mounts and is reconized by the system. Using Admin tools "disk
Management" options I am able to see the mass storage device etc
etc...when I attempt to assign a drive letter it will not open the
option to choose a drive letter. The submenu closes without any errors
or info. In device manager I can also see the device and thier are no
conflicts. I have tried uninstalling and reinstall same thing happens
again. I disabled my SCSI RAID in device manager hoping that
re-installing also might fix this. The OS now is not able to detect the
SCSI RAID. So I am stuck other than re-installing the OS (upgrade) to
attempt to fix the problem.
PS I am at work so I dont have any system info at hand and can not
recall it from memorey will post latter if it is super important. I do
have a SATA 1 drive if that helps but no other specifics etc. Thanx in
advance for any help any one could offer.

The drive will happily play a video CD or DVD but does not like blank discs.

I have followed the instructions very carefully and in the device manger I
see on both computers the Bridge USB.
Yet, when I click on the desktop icon for PCConnect it does bring up the
PCLinq (that's how they spell it) but I see only local machine. When I try
Connect it does not connect to the other machine.
Connections on the USB side are ok (on the desktop I am going through a Hub.
What is it I am missing here?

I prefer that are available are 1280 x 960 or 1280x 1024. But, when I use

1280 x1024 I have problems that causes the system to crash on occasions.
Through experimentation I found the system seems more stable at
the 1280 x 960 res. The problem with that is the fonts on the desktop
aren't crisp. (It's hard to explain.) The upper edge of some text appears to
"blur" while some the bottom edge of the text appears to "blur", the rest of
the font seems ok. I corrected this while playing around with the software
that came with the driver but I don't remember what I did to fix it. After
fixing
it there was a noticeable difference. I was hoping someone can tell me what
aspect of the settings I should work with in order to fix this problem.
